Healthcare Human Factors Group
Ontario Ministry of Health Partnership

The Healthcare Human Factors Group (HHFG) works in close partnership with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MoHLTC) and the Ontario Health Technology Assessment Committee (OHTAC) to offer evidence based analyses and recommendations to the Ontario Health System regarding the diffusion and adoption of new technologies.  In particular, HHFG analyses current technology-related issues within the context of existing Ontario practices and offers recommendations to improve technology effectiveness and safety.   The approach taken in these assessments typically consists of a systematic literature review, field studies (e.g., interviews, site visits, surveys) and, when appropriate and feasible, a comprehensive human factors analysis of the technology itself (e.g., heuristic analysis, usability testing).
