UHN Telehealth Group

Telehealth uses information and communication technologies to deliver health care services, expertise, and information to Ontario, other provinces and beyond.

At UHN, Telehealth enables clinical care, case conferences on treatment options, educational sessions, administrative meetings, and supports research activities.

Delivery of healthcare services and education takes place via live, two-way videoconferencing systems and may include the latest tele-diagnostic tools such as digital stethoscopes and high-resolution patient examination cameras.

Videoconferencing and web-streaming resources at the Center for Global e-Health enable Telehealth to meet the needs of patients by overcoming access barriers such as geography, time, distance, and lack of specialists in rural areas.
